Echo Life is a patented audio-haptic pair of wristbands offering a customizable way to support calm, focus, and emotional regulation throughout the day. Users can feel the soothing music vibrations in the wristbands as well as drum along to the music by simply moving their hands to increase focus. Users can discreetly use Echo Life in class, at work, at home or anywhere else.
The system includes wristbands that connect to a central hub and sync with a user’s smartphone via Bluetooth. Audio is translated into physical sensations, sending nuanced vibrations through five embedded motors in each wristband that reflect the lows, mids, highs, and volume intensity of a song. Together, the wristbands, hub, and mobile app form a flexible platform with two primary modes: Feel, designed for calming and regulation, and Express, designed for active, creative engagement.
Feel Feature
In Feel mode, users select music on their phone and experience it sonically and physically through synchronized vibrations across both wristbands. The stereo haptic feedback creates a full-range sensory experience that can be especially grounding and soothing, including for users who benefit from bilateral stimulation. Sessions can be customized by duration, allowing both the music and vibrations to gradually fade—supporting relaxation and helping users wind down or fall asleep quietly without disrupting others.
Express Feature
Express mode turns the wristbands into motion-responsive percussion instruments. Users choose percussion sounds in the app and control rhythm and intensity through hand movement, with adjustable sensitivity ranging from subtle, discreet motion to more energetic expression. The feature offers a physical, musical outlet that encourages creativity, movement, and stress release. Users can creatively play along to existing songs being played from their phone.
The Echo Life hub can connect to multiple wristbands at once, enabling shared experiences from casual bonding to ensemble-style interaction.

About
Matt was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at the age of 5 along with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). He began drum lessons at the age of 5 and discovered his symptoms disappear while drumming. Additionally, music has helped him overcome many challenges related to his diagnoses.
In 2003, Matt started Drum Echoes, Inc. to facilitate drum workshops with the purpose of providing people the same drumming and music benefits that has helped him throughout his life. He has worked with thousands of people all over the world, seeing firsthand how music helps others. His desire to help others with music grew while working with them in person but he later realized how much better their lives could be if they could have a similar musical experience all the time and anywhere. That's how he came up with the idea for Echo Life!
