Pride Month

Pride Month
    Anniversary of pride month :

June in every year is called Pride Month to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. In a guest column, the director of the One Orlando Alliance says ;we should show generosity not just for the month, but for the days leading up to the fourth anniversary of the Pulse nightclub attack.

The first of June is the start of Pride Month, a month-long annual celebration, to honor the 1969 Stonewall uprising in Manhattan which uprising was a tipping point in the United States that shined an international organization towards Gays, Lesbians, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) liberation. It is a month to celebrate of how far LGBTQ+ people have reached while knowing that the work continues.

For the last four years, June has become a special meaning to me because it is a chearful memory of the good in the world. for sure, the rainbows are a nice mark, but it’s the vibrancy and resiliency of our special community that fitchs the extra shining.

The funny thing is that it took a devastating drama for me to fully understand just how special Orlando truly is. Same to Stonewall, it took darkness to bring a resurgence of light.
Many lives were changed on June 12, 2016. While alot of us were sound a sleep, the chaos that happened across town that morning permeated into our existence.
Like many, I felt compelled to love ,to act , to give in the aftermath. In fact, that’s what Orlando lived for .
